From my recent trip to JCrew--I keep thinking about the boyfriend military jacket.
All others besides the XS are too boxy, and not for full price...but this is really something I think I would wear a lot. Since SF is never really "hot", I imagine I will need a jacket of some sort all through spring and even summer. This one could work with a scarf, or loosely over a tee. This time I tried it on with a skinny belt, and I like the look.
Now to have it go on sale! Here it is in green...
Here's the gray...
This is one of the things I have in mind to look for in April, hopefully at a discounted price.
What do you think of this style? Anyone purchased this jacket?
Thanks for your input!

I think you're totally rocking that jacket! I prefer the green more than the grey on you -- it carries through the 'military' style more. Love the styling with the skinny belt; did you try rolling up/scrunching the sleeves?
ReplyDeleteI agree with Ms. Mer, the green is a better color for you, Liz. I have this jacket and I love it. I've worn it quite a bit already, it is really versatile and so comfortable. I was surprised how soft the fabric is. The jacket is backordered online in both colors in sizes XS-M and pale surplus in size L so I'm glad I got it already. Hopefully you can get it on sale.
ReplyDeleteI am surprised and impressed - thought it was very boxy/bland in store and noline, but I love it on you. The color is great and your styling with the skinny belt is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI have this jacket in the green! I haven't worn it yet as it is still very cold in michigan but I'm so looking forward to it! I'm tall, 5'8", and a size 8 or 10 in JC and I bought the XS. It's slightly short in the sleeves but I plan on pushing up the sleeves like in the catalog. you should buy it, it looks great on you!
ReplyDeleteGet the green. It goes w/the military style & looks the best w/your skin. Looks great! Love it w/the belt.
ReplyDeleteI have purchased this jacket, but now am a little scared as to how big it may be. I haven't received it yet. I am typically a 0/XS at J.Crew and I ordered the XS. What size are you normally in their jackets/tops? I planned to wear it with a flowy white tank or cami, with a brown belt cinching the waist, jeans and flats. Also, I agree, the green looks best on you.
ReplyDeleteIt looks very nice on you, definitively a buy especially if you think that you can get a lot of wear out of it. I wouldn't buy it for myself because it looks a lot like a jacket that I had many years ago (btw, where did it go?)
ReplyDeleteI am curious about this jacket too! I need to get myself to a b&m to try it on in person. I was worried about all those pockets, esp the one on the sleeve. It looks great on you!!
ReplyDeleteI bought this in gray and just took it on a trip: sometimes I wore it with a skinny gray patent belt and sometimes with a wide belt and on pure travel days (airport where you have to take it off for security etc), I just left it open. I debated about this purchase because it IS boxy: i wear a 10/12 and I have a medium. I LOVE the softness and am glad to have it; it is perfect for travel ie chilly planes, can be cute/casual for going out after work (I travel on business). I find that rolling the sleeves a bit gives it a more stylish look.
