PSA: Go see Up!

I just adored this movie. First, I love the work Pixar does--the animation, the detail, the characters, it is a true art form that I have loved since Toy Story. This new story was so great and whimsical...I didn't know much about it going into the film, but it was great.

Beware though--I cried! Quite the tearjerker backstory of Carl and his earlier life (hes the old guy in the pic above). Beautiful story. But you know what they say--I laughed, I cried, I loved it! Hubs and I also laughed out loud throughout the movie, and the 3D was really fun. I love to feel like a kid again and this movie perfectly fit that bill.

I would love to hear about any summer movies you all have seen! Have you seen Up? Any others? What did you think?

I think my next movie will be "Away We Go" with John Krasinski and Maya Rudolph. And I will be saving the date for Toy Story 3, coming next June!

  1. I am so glad you posted this.
I LOVED this movie and recommend that everyone see it regardless of your age.
It would be especially sweet for a couple to see.

I don't buy movies, that's what Netflix is for.
However I will buy this movie the day it comes out :D

    Yeah, I cried too :...)

PS I love your blog but usually just read and don't reply to posts :)

  2. I really want to go see this movie!!! I love the pixar movies - especially in 3D! They feel like you are actually IN the movie. We took our little guy to see Coraline 3D when that was out and it was really neat. I've been waiting to see this! Maybe this weekend!!

  4. We went to see 'UP' on opening weekend, and goodness sakes did we ever cry! (me AND my husband!) I was so skeptical going into it - Pixar does an excellent job when creating "alternate" worlds but I had low expectations for a film that was all supposed to be humans (I know, The Incredibles was also about humans, but they were cartoony in style). I was pleasantly surprised! 'UP' was excellent - so heartfelt and so well done - like everything Pixar does, it even had a good storyline. (That can't be said of most movies these days, cartoon or otherwise!)

  5. I want to see this! I just saw Night @ the Museum2 and was cracking up. Not slide-splitting laughter, but I was amused. The acting is great and I love the creativity for this plotline. There are also some great graphics. I think there were at least 4 houses that worked on CG.
